Garden of the Gods was beautiful this morning! I am amazed that I get to live in such a glorious place. We decided to skip church and go for a longer ride instead of cutting it short and rushing.
We biked over the Mesa and then up Pikes Peak Greenway from Monument Valley Park to Woodmen. Coming through Rockrimmon we saw several deer. One baby still with spots was bravely wandering away from Momma, but when he saw us he quickly ran back to her side. A buck was lazing in the scrub oak in someones front yard. His antlers were in full velvet and 4 or 5 points per side.
The Mr. wanted to get in some extra miles in prep for the Coast of Maine so we added Mtn. Shadows Pass and a couple of extra loops through the neighborhood. We made just over 20 miles in an hour and a half. The heart-rate monitor says 637 calories - I think I'll have guilt-free ice cream tonight!
